The San Mateo County Commute Alternatives Program (CAP) is a convenient way to try an alternate to driving your single-occupancy vehicle from home to work. We our committed to reducing traffic, cutting traffic-related air pollution, conserving energy and improving the quality of life for employees and the community. Our aim is to help reduce the idling alone in dead-stopped traffic, weekly and costly trips to the gas station, and parking hassles that many of our employees endure.
Over the past 13 years, CAP has helped benefits eligible employees increase their use of high-occupancy commute modes, and has prevented millions of pounds of pollutants from being emitted into the air and reduced millions of vehicle miles of travel on Bay Area roads.
