Worried about missing your ride home? Sick child? Demanding boss? It is our policy to assist any registered Commute Alternatives Program (CAP) participant with a Guaranteed Ride Home on a day they require travel assistance due to the event of a workday emergency.
Think of it as "commuter insurance"! This benefit is available to registered CAP commuters only who are regular users of commuting alternatives-carpooling, vanpooling, transit, walking or bicycling. So whether it's for an illness, family crisis, or unscheduled supervisor-approved overtime, a free taxi or rental car will get you home!
Eligibility for this program is outlined below:
You can take a taxi (if you live within 25 miles from home).
You can take a rental car (if you live over 25 miles from home).
You can check out a county car from our Redwood City County Government Center Motor Pool Shop - Call (650) 363-4036.
We can give your co-worker a monetary reimbursement of $20 to take you home.
We can reimburse you for any public transit ticket, should you prefer to use public transit to get home.
